Tinox Chemie GmbH exhibited at the European Coatings Show 2025 titanium dioxide exhibition at Messezentrum Nuremberg, Nuremberg, Germany, March 25 – 27, 2025.
European Coatings Show 2025 — Exhibition Overview
The European Coatings Show (ECS) 2025 broke all previous records, welcoming over 25,681 visitors from around the world and more than 1,200 exhibitors from 46 countries across eight exhibition halls covering over 40,000 square metres of net floor space. Organised by Vincentz Network and NürnbergMesse, ECS 2025 ran concurrently with the European Coatings Conference under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow’s Innovation” — featuring over 140 presentations across 24 topic sessions. The dominant themes throughout the 2025 edition were sustainability, bio-based raw materials, PFAS-free formulations, solvent-free and waterborne systems, and digitalisation — reflecting the profound transformation underway across the European coatings industry.
Exhibition dates: March 25–27, 2025 | Conference dates: March 24–26, 2025 | Messezentrum, 90471 Nuremberg, Germany.
TINOX® TiO₂ Grades for Europe’s Evolving Coatings Market
ECS 2025’s focus on sustainability, low-VOC systems and regulatory compliance maps directly onto procurement decisions in the European coatings market. At ECS 2025, our technical team presented four TINOX® grades matched to the most pressing European formulation challenges of 2025:
- TINOX® R-2140 — Sustainable Architectural & Construction Coatings
High-performance rutile grade for architectural paints and construction chemical coatings — the largest TiO₂ application segment in Europe. As European construction activity shifts toward energy-efficient buildings and sustainable renovation, demand for durable, high-opacity white coatings remains strong. R-2140 delivers reliable hiding power and batch consistency at competitive cost-efficiency — essential for paint manufacturers reformulating toward lower-VOC waterborne systems under EU Directive 2004/42/EC without compromising on opacity performance. - TINOX® R-2160 — Powder Coatings & Solvent-Free Systems
Rutile grade optimised for powder coating formulations and high-solids solvent-free systems — one of the fastest-growing segments in European industrial coatings. ECS 2025’s sustainability agenda drove significant interest in powder coatings as the zero-VOC alternative to liquid systems. R-2160 provides excellent dispersibility in epoxy, polyester and hybrid powder coating matrices, delivering bright whiteness and strong hiding power in electrostatic spray applications on metal substrates, furniture and architectural metalwork. - TINOX® CR-1120 — Construction Chemicals & Protective Systems
Sulphate-process rutile formulated for construction chemical applications including cementitious coatings, façade systems, waterproofing membranes and exterior insulation finishing systems (ETICS). Europe’s large-scale renovation programmes — driven by the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive — are generating sustained demand for high-performance construction chemical coatings. CR-1120 delivers excellent compatibility with mineral-based binder systems and long-term UV and weathering resistance in outdoor construction applications. - TINOX® A-1710 — ESG Compliance & Food-Safe Coatings
Food-grade anatase TiO₂ with certified high purity, directly addressing ECS 2025’s ESG and regulatory compliance themes. As European supply chains face increasing ESG documentation requirements — from food-contact material regulations to pharmaceutical packaging compliance — A-1710 provides coating formulators with a fully traceable, REACH-registered, food-safe TiO₂ option. Suitable for interior coatings in food processing facilities, food-contact packaging coatings and pharmaceutical-grade surface applications.
Tinox Chemie & the ECS 2025 Sustainability Agenda
The sustainability themes at ECS 2025 align closely with the TINOX® product development direction. Several points are directly relevant for European buyers evaluating their TiO₂ supply chain:
- Chloride process environmental advantage — Our chloride-process TINOX® rutile grades generate significantly lower waste per tonne of pigment versus sulphate-process production, supporting formulators’ own sustainability and Scope 3 emissions reporting.
- REACH fully registered — Registration No. 01-2119489379-17. Complete SDS and regulatory documentation provided — essential for European formulators under REACH and CLP obligations.
- German supply chain reliability — Headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. Short European supply routes reduce transport emissions and lead times — supporting customers’ own carbon footprint reduction goals.
- Full technical support — TDS, SDS/MSDS and formulation guidance available for all grades. Our team advises on grade selection for waterborne, powder, construction chemical and food-safe coating applications.
About the European Coatings Show
Organised by Vincentz Network and NürnbergMesse, ECS is the world’s leading trade exhibition for the coatings, printing inks, adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals industries, held every two years in Nuremberg. ECS 2025 was the most international edition to date, with Germany, China, Italy, the Netherlands and India among the most strongly represented exhibitor nations. The next European Coatings Show is scheduled for April 20–22, 2027, Nuremberg.
