In the paint formulation design, in addition to selecting the appropriate titanium dioxide grade, another key issue is how to determine the optimal use of titanium dioxide. This depends on the need for coating opacity but is also marketed by other factors such as PVC, wetting and dispersing, film thickness, solids content and the presence of other coloring pigments. For room temperature curing solvent-based white coatings, the titanium dioxide content can be selected from 350kg/1000L for high-quality coatings to 240kg/1000L for economical coatings when the PVC is 17.5% or the ratio of 0.75:1. The solid dosage is 70%~50%; for decorative latex paint, when PVC CPVC, the amount of titanium dioxide can be further reduced with the increase of dry hiding power. In some economical coating formulations, the amount of titanium dioxide can be reduced to 20kg/1000L. In high-rise building exterior wall coatings, the content of titanium dioxide can be reduced to a certain proportion, and the adhesion of the coating film can also be increased.
