Tinox Chemie GmbH successfully concluded its participation in the West Africa Coating Show 2025 titanium dioxide exhibition at Booth #3B100, Landmark Centre, Plot 3 & 4 Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island Annex, Lagos, Nigeria, July 2 – 4, 2025.
West Africa Coating Show 2025 — Exhibition Overview
The West Africa Coatings Show 2025 was a landmark event — the inaugural edition of West Africa’s only dedicated coatings trade exhibition, organised by dmg events in partnership with the Paint Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMA). The show brought together over 100 exhibiting brands from more than 15 countries, attracting 2,000+ coatings industry professionals across 2,500 square metres of exhibition space. The event served manufacturers, raw material suppliers, distributors, chemists and formulators from Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and across the West African region — creating a premier platform for business networking, knowledge exchange and commercial partnership development in one of Africa’s fastest-growing coatings markets.
Nigeria’s paint and coatings industry has an installed capacity of over 250 million litres of paint per annum, valued at more than ₦200 billion, employing over 60,000 people directly and indirectly. The launch of the West Africa Coatings Show reflects the region’s growing international significance as a coatings market destination.
Opening hours: July 2–4, 2025, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily | Landmark Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.

TINOX® TiO₂ Grades for West African Tropical Conditions
West Africa’s coatings market presents a highly specific set of formulation challenges: extreme UV radiation, high ambient temperatures, intense seasonal humidity and heavy rainfall — all of which accelerate coating degradation and demand high-performance TiO₂ pigments with exceptional weathering resistance. At Booth #3B100, we presented four grades matched to these conditions:
- TINOX® R-2290 — Premium Weather-Resistant Exterior Coatings
High-purity chloride-process rutile with Class A weatherability — our flagship grade for harsh tropical outdoor environments. R-2290 delivers outstanding chalking resistance, UV durability and long-term colour retention under the intense solar radiation and high humidity of the West African climate. Specifically formulated for premium exterior architectural coatings on residential and commercial buildings across Nigeria and the wider ECOWAS region. - TINOX® CR-1220 — High-Opacity Architectural Topcoats
Specialty chloride-process rutile with excellent opacity and tinting strength — engineered for architectural topcoat systems where maximum hiding power per kilogram of TiO₂ is the primary economic driver. In West Africa’s price-sensitive paint market, CR-1220’s high scattering efficiency allows formulators to achieve target opacity at lower pigment loadings, directly reducing formulation cost without compromising on whiteness or gloss. - TINOX® R-2240 — Decorative & General Purpose Paints
Versatile rutile grade combining strong hiding power with broad compatibility across waterborne and solvent-borne decorative systems. Nigeria is Africa’s largest paint market — with the decorative segment accounting for the majority of volume. R-2240 serves the high-volume production needs of West African paint manufacturers supplying interior and exterior emulsion paints, gloss paints and undercoats to building contractors, hardware distributors and retail consumers. - TINOX® R-2140 — Cost-Effective High-Volume Architectural Paints
Reliable, high-performance rutile for large-volume decorative paint production at competitive cost efficiency. West Africa’s rapidly expanding construction sector — driven by urbanisation, population growth and infrastructure investment — generates enormous demand for affordable, quality architectural paints. R-2140 provides the consistent whiteness, opacity and batch reliability required by high-throughput paint manufacturing operations across the region.
Why West African Paint Manufacturers Choose TINOX® Titanium Dioxide
- Tropical climate performance — Chloride-process rutile grades deliver superior UV resistance and anti-chalking performance under the extreme conditions of West Africa’s tropical climate — essential for exterior coatings that must withstand intense sun, heavy rainfall and high humidity year-round.
- German quality from Düsseldorf — All TINOX® grades manufactured to strict European quality standards. Consistent batch-to-batch quality supports paint manufacturers scaling up production to meet growing regional demand.
- REACH registered — Full EU regulatory compliance, Registration No. 01-2119489379-17. Complete SDS documentation provided — increasingly relevant as West African manufacturers seek to supply European and international export markets.
- Regional sales support — Our dedicated regional sales team provides on-the-ground technical and commercial support across the West African market. Contact us at [email protected] for pricing, samples and formulation guidance.
